Photographer Søren Pagter is an experienced photographer and lecturer. As the head of the Photojournalism program at the Danish School of Journalism he is doing a great job motivating a new generations of young Danish photojournalist to raise the bare on their ability to tell important visual stories.
One of Søren`s former students, photographer, Thomas Lekfeldt, won this years first prize in Danish Picture of the Year in the category Reportage, first prize in the PGB Photo Award in the category Feature Picture of the Year and the World Understanding Award in Picture of the Year international, with the story A Star in the Sky. A strong and emotional story, that in my opinion is a textbook example on how to edit, what must have been an enormous number of pictures, down to a visually consistent and personal picture story. Picture editing is challenging. It might become a little bit easier if you use Søren Pagter`s points made to the students working on their photo story.
