The Magnum photographer Alec Soth, is traveling around America, working on the project called the “Continental Picture Show”. In this first collection of pictures, Ash Wednesday, New Orleans, Soth explores the aftermath of Mardi Gras. As far as I know this is the first time a photographic comment is run on the NYT opinionator blog. I find it an interesting way of expanding the photojournalists opportunity to speak in his own subjective voice in a new journalistic context. Visual commentary.
